A 1982 Cum Laude of Indiana State University -Evansville (now the University of Southern Indiana) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art and Philosophy. Timothy Fitzgerald graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Fine Art degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 1985. Among his recent honors, Evansville-born Fitzgerald was the May, 1991 recipient of the John Cavanaugh Memorial Award in the North American Sculpture Exhibition in Golden, Colorado. At that same time he was elected to membership in the prestigious North American Sculpture Society. Fitzgerald will be most recently remembered for the permanent installation of "The Quest for Harmony", a monumental cor-ten steel work placed on the front plaza of the New Harmony Atheneum. His work is also included in the area collections of Fine & Haffield, Attorneys-at-Law, Dr. Mark Morrison, Kenneth McCutchan, and Mr. and Mrs. D. Patrick O¹Daniel.
